Art class at the zoo

Today Raina's art class took a field trip to the zoo to see the penguins.  It was cold and rainy, so the penguins were the only animals we saw and they came outside just for us! The are south African penguins, and they like warm weather. They just stayed out for 20 minutes and then went back inside!

The kids made penguin puppets and saw a few indoor animals like the reptiles and amphibians.

Playing zookeeper by matching the right food with the right animal.

Some of the penguins are bigger than Raina!  Most are painted to scale, but the zoopkeeper showed us where some of the little ones are bigger than they should be.  The had a technical problems when they painted them!
Raina liked using the glue stick.
Ta-da!  One googly eyed penguin.

Next week is our last art class!
